A Simple Skincare Routine To Get Glowing Skin

Skincare Routine Step 1: Cleanser

During the day, your skin can get clogged with makeup, pollution, dirt, and other factors. That’s why it’s so important to wash your face. (And if you wear makeup, use a makeup remover first!)

Washing your face helps remove the day’s build-up, and can help prevent future breakouts.

If you have dry or combination skin, skip the cleanser in the morning and just wash your face with lukewarm water, saving the cleanser for the evenings. This is because over-cleansing can strip your face of the natural oils it needs to thrive. On the other hand, if you have oily or acne-prone skin, use a cleanser both in the morning and the evening to reduce breakouts.

When you do cleanse, consider leaving your cleanser to sit on your face for 1-2 minutes before rinsing off for a mask-like effect.

My personal favorites:

Anti-Aging Peptides Cleanser

Hydrating Lactic Cleanser

Skincare Routine Step 2: Serum

When your skin is clean and damp or dry, follow with a serum. These heavily concentrated concoctions often have ingredients focused on specific skincare goals. For example, you might choose a serum that focuses on radiance, anti-aging, or uneven skin tone - to name a few. Apply your serum in both the morning and evening, and gently tap your skin to help with absorption.

My personal favorites:

Super Serum

Wrinkle Relaxer Serum

Skincare Routine Step 3: Day Moisturizer With SPF

In the mornings, follow your serum with a day moisturizer that includes SPF. Hydration is key to healthy skin, and SPF is vital to protect from the sun. UV damage continues to accumulate throughout your life, and SPF is your best defense. And yes, this means even wearing it indoors and during the winter! UVB rays (the rays that cause sunburn) are weaker in the winter, but they are still there nonetheless, and they still pose a threat. UVA rays (the rays that cause wrinkles and premature signs of aging) are strong year-round, even on the coldest winter days. So make sure your skincare products are protecting you!

My personal favorites:

Ultra Tint Protector SPF 30

Skincare Routine Step 4: Night Cream

In the evenings, follow your serum with a night cream. Night creams are usually richer and more highly concentrated than day moisturizers and can help your skin repair while you sleep. You’ll wake up with skin that feels more supple, moisturized, and radiant than it did the night before. Night creams are almost like a battery recharge for tired skin, and they can help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and dryness.

Some people choose night creams with powerful ingredients like retinol or vitamin C to treat their skin overnight. Ingredients like these can make your skin extra sensitive to sunlight, so it’s important to only use night creams in the evening and to stay consistent with your SPF during the day!

My personal favorites:

BIOTIC Regen Cream

Glycolic Glow Cream

Skincare Routine Step 5: Exfoliant

I don’t recommend using a physical exfoliant daily. Instead, you might want to opt to exfoliate about 2-3 times per week. Exfoliating can help slough off dead skin and other build-ups to get you glowing and help products better absorb into your skin. If exfoliating is a brand new addition to your routine, be sure to start slow. The process can be irritating to skin, so be gentle at first, and start with just 1 exfoliation per week until you gauge how your skin reacts. Before you know it, you’ll be a glowing goddess!

My personal favorites:

Super Brightening Pads

Jade Heating Brush
